Situated in one of Botswana's most precious and undiscovered wilderness areas is Camp Linyanti. A rustic, permanent tented camp with simple, African-inspired decor and an unapologetic emphasis on the wide-spanning views, attracting an abundance of wildlife.
The accommodation at Camp Linyanti sings of traditional safari, blending in with the environment and keeping things simple, yet elegant. There are 5 individual canvas tents, elevated slightly from the ground with stairs leading onto private wooden decks, and up to the interior of these unique, circular tents.
The main lodge has extensive wooden decks that overlook the bulging Linyanti River and the floodplains beyond it. Meals can be served on the deck for a dining experience with the birds and whatever animals happen to be passing by.
Guests are accommodated in individual canvas tents, that are unusually round in shape and include ensuite facilities and air-conditioning.
Camp Linyanti, aside from the privacy and comfort of guests' individual rooms and viewing decks, offers a bar, lounge, and dining area in prime positioning for unending views all the way to Namibia. Relax on comfortable couches and gaze at the endless horizon, or pick up a pair of binoculars and scan the water's edge for interesting birds and animals.
Out of the 5 tented chalets, 4 are standard twin or double rooms, which sleep 2 people each, while an extra bed can be arranged on request for a triple. The remaining room is a honeymoon suite, offering something special for newlyweds at Camp Linyanti.
Each bedroom has bedside tables and lamps, individually controlled air-conditioning, and extra blankets.
One of the most appealing assets of Camp Linyanti, and what categorises it as one of Botswana's Hidden Secrets, is its remote and private location.
In the north-western corner of Chobe National Park on the border on the border with Namibia, the gorgeous Linyanti marshlands provide a home to this simply charming tented camp.
The camp is reached via light air transfer from Maun or Kasane to the Saile airstrip in Chobe National Park. After a short 40 minute flight, guests will embark on a 90 minute game drive to camp.
